Research indicates that he was originally from Vic. He began his education as a choirboy of the Music Chapel of the Cathedral of Barcelona. He was a disciple of Joan Pau Pujol and, between 1622 and 1626, he was Kapellmeister of La Seu d'Urgell. In 1626 he obtained the same position at the Cathedral of Barcelona, succeeding his teacher, and remained there until the end of his life. He composed liturgical music in Latin and Spanish.
