Biografia
He began his musical training in his hometown and later in Barcelona with Antoni Nicolau and Joan Lamote de Grignon. He began his work as conductor of the Orfeó Manresà. Thanks to a scholarship awarded by the City Council of Manresa, he was able to travel to Germany to study with Jacques Dalcroze. On his return to Catalonia, he tried to implement Dalcroze's method. He was director of the Escola Municipal de Música in Terrassa, which eventually became the Conservatory of that city. His output includes sardanes, string quartets and string quintets. He contributed to the compilation of Catalan folk songs that he also harmonized for choir.
