Composer 

He began his music studies in Granollers and continued with Barcelona with Enric Morera, Joan Baptista Lambert and Joan Lamote de Grignon. He returned to Granollers, and became involved with the musical life of the city: he was conductor of choral and orchestral ensembles (Orquesta Catalonia and Orquestra de Corda de Granollers), was organist of the parochial church of Sant Esteve (1922- 1984), and director of the Escola Municipal of Music of Granollers (1945-1983). He devoted himself mainly to the composition of sardanes, of which Matinal, La competència, Tríptic Laietà (Ciutat de Barcelona 1971 prize) and Tot teixint were awarded prizes. Other notable compositions include the Tres moviments simfònics (1936), premiered at the 14th Festival of the International Society for Contemporary Music (Barcelona), and Empúries (1959), where he combined the cobla with the symphonic orchestra. He wrote the essay Reforma de la sardana i de la cobla (1953).
