Kapellmeister and composer
He was Kapellmeister of several Spanish cathedrals such as Segovia (1731-1741) and Valladolid (1741-1752). From 1752 he was appointed Kapellmeister of the Royal Convent of Señoras de la Encarnación in Madrid. He contributed to the introduction of Soler’s Llave de la modulación (1762). Although his career developed outside Catalonia, he seemed to be a native of Solsona. He composed religious music, currently hold in archives of the Iberian Peninsula, such as Montserrat and El Escorial. His music is also preserved in Peru, where he was the music was performed up until the beginning of the nineteenth century. His music stands between the religious tradition of the late Hispanic baroque and the gallant music aesthetic.
