Composer and director 

He studied, among others with Jaume Pahissa and Enric Morera. He founded and conducted several choirs. Particularly relevant is his post as conductor of Catalunya Nova (1902-03), and that of deputy director of the Orfeó Barcelonès. In 1904 he founded the Society of Catalan Concerts. He also devoted himself to teaching, wrote a harmony handbook, and conducted lyrical productions. He composed orchestral piano and chamber music, pieces for voice and accompaniment. Corpus (1919, premiered in 1929 by Pau Casals Orchestra) is particularly relevant among his output as it was composed according to the theories of the intertonality of his teacher Pahissa.
