He studied at the ESMB and developed a broad musical carrier that included music conducting, composition and pedagogy. In addition to being conductor of the Orfeó Barcelonès, in the 1950s he created the an Award and founded Ja Concert Hall bearing his name, promoting in this way Barcelona's musical life.
He composed orchestral music and premiered his opera Amunt! (1959) at Gran Teatre del Liceu.
